The house is located in Cyprus in Agia Fyla of Limassol which it was renovated and completely insulated with the Fibrostir Extruded Polystyrene thermal system from Ravatherm Hellas S.A.
Apart from the insulation of the house shell, the old existing single windows were replaced with new thermal energy efficient windows that are designed to slow the passage of heat to improve the comfort inside the house. In summer, these thermal windows block hot outside air from entering the air conditioned environment and in winter, they stop heated air from escaping.
The existing non inverter air condition units were replaced with new energy efficient inverter units to for the better performance and lower consumptions of the energy needs for cooling and heating of the spaces.
Furthermore, the existing hot water cylinder and solar thermal panels were replaced with new energy efficient system for better performance for hot water production.
With the above measures suggested by Unelem’s Engineers the existing energy efficiency class of the residence has changed from D to B+.
