The house is located in Cyprus in Germasogeia of Limassol which it was renovated and completely insulated with the FKDN-Thermal Extruded Polystyrene thermal system from Knauf Insulation. Unelem’s Consulting Engineers have prepared the electrical study for the renovation of the residence, as well as the energy efficiency study.

Apart from the insulation of the house shell, the old existing single windows were replaced with new thermal energy efficient windows that are designed to slow the passage of heat to improve the comfort inside the house. In summer, these thermal windows block hot outside air from entering the air conditioned environment and in winter, they stop heated air from escaping.

The existing non inverter air condition units were replaced with new energy efficient inverter units to for the better performance and lower consumptions of the energy needs for cooling and heating of the spaces.

Furthermore, the existing old shutters were replaced with new efficient ones including additionally to windows without shutters for better performance and efficiency of the house.
